Road Diner Simulator trades gas pumps for grills in free Prologue launch

Becky’s diner is open for business, and the grill is already on fire. Yesterday, July 27, Drago Entertainment released Road Diner Simulator: Prologue, a free standalone chapter that drops players into the world of the studio’s 2-million-selling hit Gas Station Simulator, this time from behind a diner counter instead of a gas pump. The Prologue is available now on PC via Steam. Road Diner Simulator returns players to the same stretch of Route 66 familiar to Gas Station Simulator fans, but trades pump nozzles for spatulas. Players take on the role of a short-order cook who shows up at Becky’s roadside diner just as business booms out of control. Becky can’t keep up with the rush alone, and it’s up to the player to jump behind the line and keep tickets from piling up. The Prologue has players cooking a range of dishes, pouring coffee refills, bussing and washing dishes, seating and serving guests, and managing inventory — all while the orders keep coming. Let the dining room get too messy, and cockroaches show up uninvited. Beyond the kitchen chaos, the Prologue is built around building a rapport with Becky, whose diner has become a local fixture for truckers, road-trippers, and regulars along the highway. Drago Studio Head Lucjan Mikociak said the Prologue is a chance for players to revisit a beloved setting from a new angle. “Road Diner Simulator lets players return to the world so many of them fell in love with in Gas Station Simulator, but from behind a completely different counter,” he said, adding that the Prologue is only a preview of what’s ahead. Road Diner Simulator: Prologue was built in Unreal Engine 5 and is available in nine languages, including English, German, French, Spanish, Polish, Turkish, Ukrainian, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese. Minimum specs call for an Intel Core i3-class processor, 8GB of RAM and a GTX 900-series GPU; recommended specs bump that up to a Core i5, 16GB of RAM and a GTX 1070 or better. The Prologue is just the first step for Road Diner Simulator. Drago plans to release a more extensive demo later this year featuring 4-player online co-op, followed by the full 1.0 launch, both targeted before the end of 2026, with the full game currently slated for a Q3 2026 release on Steam. Road Diner Simulator is one of several projects Drago Entertainment has in the works as it expands the Gas Station Simulator universe, alongside Roadhouse Simulator and Airport Contraband. Gas Station Simulator itself launched in September 2021 and has sold more than 2 million copies across platforms, becoming one of Steam’s breakout simulation hits. Drago Entertainment is a publicly listed deverlop and publisher based in, Kraków, Poland. The company has focused on simulation games since restructuring its strategy in 2018 to target international, high-quality productions. Road Diner Simulator: Prologue is free to download now on Steam. Players interested in the full game can wishlist it ahead of its Q3 2026 release. Drago Entertainment shares updates on the game through its Discord, X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and Twitch channels. Capcom can't stop winning, pointing to Pragmata's 2.5 million copies sold as it records a huge increase in year-on-year profits

Capcom is shouting out Pragmata's sales success as a big reason why the company's year-on-year profits have increased. In the company's latest earnings report , Capcom notes an 83% increase in net sales year-on-year, and noting: "Unit sales of all-new IP Pragmata and catalog titles performed well, driving revenue and profit up." Capcom confirms that – as of June 30, 2026 – Pragmata has sold over 2.5 million copies since it was released back in April 2026, while Resident Evil Requiem sold a further 1.14 million since sales were last reported, bringing the latest game in the series up to eight million copies sold. This mixed with strong sales for older Resident Evil titles, bringing the series to 213 million copies sold, and making it the best-selling Japanese game series not published by Nintendo or Sony. In a press release , Capcom once again singles out Pragmata as a key factor in this increase in sales, saying: "Digital Contents business drove earnings with 23.81 million units in total sales volume, which exceeded sales of 14.16 million units for the same period of the previous fiscal year. This included sales of all-new IP PRAGMATA, which surpassed 2.5 million units worldwide following a positive launch reception due to increased brand awareness achieved through robust promotional activities." Since launch, Capcom hasn't exactly kept its cards close to its chest regarding how it feels about Pragmata. It confirmed that it will consider "developing it into a series," after Pragmata hit two million copies within its first month and says it will continue making new IP. The push for new IP is something Devil May Cry and Bayonetta creator Hideki Kamiya credits Capcom's success with , while Pragmata director Yonghee Cho told us in May that he would "of course" love to make a sequel to the game. In a games industry dominated by safe bets, Capcom keeps getting weird with it. [/url]

Xbox is back online, tech lead pledges "we'll do better" so similar failures "can't ruin your night again" after outage stopped fans playing digital and physical games

Xbox chief technology officer Scott Van Vliet has commented on the outages that hit consoles yesterday, and has pledged to investigate the issues. Following a PlayStation outage – which lined up quite nicely with the launch of the Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls beta, and was a lovely bit of synergy with Sony's pledge to go all-digital – Xbox players got to experience the same this week . The outage lasted several hours and prevented Xbox players from accessing their profiles. Crucially, it also stopped them from finding games in the Xbox store, accessing their digital games, and even some physical ones (presumably those which effectively work as a Game-Key Card), which is the cherry on top of the push for digital games. Van Vliet has taken to Twitter following the resolution of the outage, saying, "this is an unacceptable situation, and we must do better to support you." He adds: "Over the coming weeks, you'll hear more from me about our services, our platform, and the work we're doing to make Xbox better. And that starts with some transparency about this incident." Earlier today, many players began experiencing issues with sign in, enumerating their game libraries and playing games. The team has worked hard throughout the day to fix the issue, and we've restored service as of 2:30 PM PDT. Nonetheless, this is an unacceptable situation, and… https://t.co/3y9TjxzKls July 28, 2026 He explains that the outage was due to the failure of a licensing service outside Xbox that the console relies on, which in turn caused the issues. Once the outage was noticed, the team "declared a major incident" and began work on sorting it. "We're running a full post-incident review," Van Vliet says, adding that "I care less about the one-line root cause and more about the real questions: why a failure in one service was able to take down this much, why recovery took as long as it did, and what we change so a single point of failure can't ruin your night again." Crucially, he pledges: "We'll do better." Still, the timing of these outages feel like they came at the right time. Players are still very unhappy about the prospect of an all-digital future following Sony's announcement, and there are fears that Project Helix will also not be supporting physical games. So hopefully, these events serve as a wake-up call to Sony and Microsoft . Xbox is reportedly testing a feature to digitize physical game collections as PlayStation decides to phase out discs. Indie dev explains how their forgotten 8-year-old Steam game suddenly became popular thanks to an Undertale mod

An indie developer has explained how their forgotten free Steam game from eight years ago suddenly became popular thanks to Undertale. RetroSpecter, who says they’ve been making games for nearly a decade, recounted the story on the IndieDev Reddit page (as spotted by PC Gamer ), explaining why a game they had made early in their career and no longer paid attention to had taken on a new life of its own. The game, Crashphalt, is a 4-player competitive platformer where players use a ground pound move to create shockwaves in the terrain, in an attempt to knock opponents off the stage. Read More...

After 15 Years, Resident Evil 5 Has Finally Been Dethroned as The Series' Best-Selling Game

After 15 years, Resident Evil 5 is no longer the highest-selling entry in Capcom's survival horror series, the publisher has revealed. New sales figures for the Resident Evil franchise show its sales crown has now been taken by the Resident Evil 2 remake, which has now shifted 19.75 million copies — enough to slip past Resident Evil 5's final total of 19.01 million. These totals are interesting for several reasons. Firstly, the fact that Resi 5's sales have taken a decade and a half to topple says a lot about the huge excitement for that game when it initially arrived — riding on the coat tails of the beloved original Resi 4, despite ultimately being judged as nowhere near as good. Secondly, these totals show that the Resident Evil series' back catalogue continues to sell really well. Capcom's Resident Evil 2 remake launched back in 2019 and is clearly still shifting copies (and has likely benefited from the subsequent launches of other Leon S. Kennedy-starring titles such as the Resi 4 remake and Resident Evil Requiem ). Speaking of the Resi 4 remake and Requiem, you might wonder where their sales are in all of this. Well, they are still selling brilliantly, too — and may yet both eclipse Resident Evil 2 to become the franchise's top sellers, given enough time. Resident Evil Requiem has now sold 8 million copies, a figure that will undoubtedly rise far further as the game gets discounted over time and receives its highly-anticipated post-launch expansion. Resident Evil 4's remake, meanwhile, is now on an impressive 16 million copies sold. All combined, the Resident Evil franchise has now sold a combined 213 million copies across all of its games — a figure which sees it edge past the 212 million total sales of Square Enix's Final Fantasy franchise, although these have not yet been updated for this financial quarter. Other Capcom games selling well include new franchise Pragmata (now up to 2.51 million copies sold) and Monster Hunter: World which has now sold an astonishing 30.45 million copies. Next up for the Resident Evil franchise is the launch of Zach Cregger's Resident Evil movie on September 16, before the arrival of Resident Evil Veronica sometime in 2027 .
